Ken Minor

Architect Ken Minor, from Santa Barbara has spent the better part of the last three decades hand building the Lyle Hess designed Morning Star,a sistership of Lin and Larry Pardey's Taleisin.

Attended California State Polytechnic College, San Lois Obispo, majoring in Architecture and graduated in 1963 with a degree in Architectural Engineering 
Upon graduation moved to Santa Barbara, Ca and in 1975 established the Architectural firm of Lenvik and Minor, Architects with former college classmate Ed Lenvik. 

Started sailing while a student at College in an El Toro dinghy. In mid 1980's became partner in a 1961 Cheoy Lee Frisco Flyer wooden sloop.
At this time became interested in cruising and became interested in Lyle Hess designs. Read the Pardey's books about "Cruising in Seraffyn". Bought plans for Lyle Hess designed Taleisin.  He began construction of Morning Song in 1991.  Launched Morning Song March 12, 2016. Morning Song is a close replica of Taleisin but with an engine. Ken first visited Port Townsend in 1985 and has attended all but two Festivals since
