Greg Hatten

Greg is an outdoor adventurer, free-lance writer, professional photographer and special-interest speaker on topics that apply wilderness experiences to management and leadership challenges in everyday life. His passion for building and rowing wooden boats on challenging rivers led to a project with the National Park Service to help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the NPS.

In the past 18 months Greg and his wooden boats have visited over 14 National Parks and written about the adventures in a number of well-known publications – including: Overland Journal, Oregon 1859, Gray’s Sporting Journal, Salmon Steelhead Journal, Washington 1889, Small Boat, WoodenBoat Magazine, and many more. In 2014, 50 years after Martin Litton’s historic dory run of the Colorado River, Greg joined a team of wood boat enthusiasts to recreate Litton’s boats and run the mightiest of rivers. When he isn’t on the oars he can be found exploring the Western backroads in his FJ40 Land Cruiser. Greg has presented at past woodenboat  Festivals in both Port Townsend and Mystic.
