A late May/early June 2016 transit under sail, in the Discovery Islands, of Surge Narrows in Okisollo Channel. From the bottom of Hoskyn Channel the passages included: Beazley Passage, Waiatt Bay/Octopus Islands, the Upper Rapids of Surge Narrows, Okissolo Channel, the upper section of Discovery Passage to Chatham Point, with several intermediate anchorages. The boat used was a 25' full keel Cape Dory 25D sloop, single-handed by the presenter. The route sailed is between the more commonly taken ones of Seymour Narrows to the west and Yuculta Rapids to the east. Modest adventures are readily available to sailing cruisers above the Salish Sea, where the tide floods SE rather than NW.
